Favorite Author Contests

2 Jun

This week two of my fav YA authors have some pretty awesome contests going on.

The first is Carrie Ryan. In honor of Audiobook month (June) and the release of her Forest of Hands and Teeth books being made into audiobooks she is offering up copies of each to the lucky winner who simply comments on her Goodreads blog here. If you don’t already belong to Goodreads you should really jump on that band wagon. I recently joined and it has become a bit of an obsession the past week.

The second YA author giving away some free stuff is Maggie Stiefvater. Her final installment of the Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy, Forever, comes out in a few weeks, but if you participate in her contest you can get an Advanced Reader’s Copy beforehand. This one is a little more complicated, so you can find the details here.

For those of you who participate, good luck. And if you haven’t read Forest of Hands and Teeth OR Shiver (Wolves of Mercy Falls #1), go pick up a copy from the library and dig in. Both are awesome, but in very different ways and both are the first of a trilogy. If you don’t want a big series, but still want more than a single book trilogies are extremely popular amongst YA authors right now so there is a lot to choose from.

Join me next time for a discussion on some awesome trilogies.

Now I am trying to think of awesome trilogies! Hunger Games comes to mind as does Uglies, which is technically not a trilogy, but should have been. I think Scott Westerfeld will get the trilogy thing right with Leviathon, Behemoth, and Goliath. Ok, trilogies…
